A little about who we are
Gutekunst Design is managed by Wes Gutekunst. Wes received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Oklahoma State University with a minor in Studio Art. Out of college he worked for the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum as the Assistant Marketing Director and focused mostly on developing the Museum's brand and advertising presence. While at the Museum, he developed a new logo that is still used today.
From there, Wes moved to North Carolina where he worked for the next 3 years as the Marketing Director for Kitty Hawk Kites. He oversaw all aspects of marketing and was heavily involved with the development of several new companies that are owned by Kitty Hawk Kites including Waves Village, Kitty Hawk Surf Co., and Morningside Flight Park. Wes designed and programmed all of the websites for those companies and handled much of the initial graphic design needs himself. While at Kitty Hawk Kites, Wes brought most of design work in-house and was able to grow the marketing department from a staff of two people to five people.
In early 2011, Wes returned to Oklahoma and continued to work for Kitty Hawk Kites with a focus on developing new websites and special projects. Keeping Kitty Hawk Kites as a client, in September of 2012 Wes ventured out on his own and started Gutekunst Design.
